Are you still hesitating to learn Spanish? Want to speak a new language but don’t know which one to choose? The Arabic language uses a completely different alphabet, the sentences in German have an inverted construction compared to French, in Chinese you have to know several thousand characters just to be able to read the newspaper. In comparison, Spanish is simpler! With regularity, we can quickly obtain concrete results. 2. A passport to dream destinations

Today there are approximately 326 million  native Spanish speakers, and they inhabit breathtaking regions: Costa Rica, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Peru, Argentina, Cuba… Spanish is an official language in more than 21 country . What do they have in common? These are exotic destinations that invite you to travel. Between the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, the remains of millennial civilizations (Incas, Mayas, etc.), the wild expanses sheltering an extremely rare fauna and flora or even the discovery of cultures unique in the world, it is difficult not to find your ideal destination in a Spanish-speaking country! Let’s also not forget the magnificent regions and cities of Spain, such as the charm of Granada in Andalusia, Barcelona, ​​Madrid etc…

Don’t be a simple tourist anymore ! Spanish is a must to fully experience the lifestyle of a Hispanic country. Using the language of the country that welcomes you is a proof of openness highly appreciated by the inhabitants who will return it to you a hundredfold by their kindness! It is through language and the ability to have “deep and complex” discussions that we create real complicity and a strong bond.

3. Boost your professional career with Spanish

Despite the crisis, the economy of Spain is the 6th economy of the European Union and the 14th world economic power, Mexico is just behind in 15th position ( 2015 Ranking ). Latin American countries have considerable weight and are at the heart of economic exchanges in many sectors: agro-food, tourism, new technologies, energy, etc. Companies therefore greatly value the ability to work in Spanish. To stand out  in the job market, Spanish is the essential asset in a world where English is no longer a valued skill but a widespread prerequisite.

4. Enjoy literary and cinematic masterpieces

“Don Quijote de la Mancha”  means something to you? The novel by writer Miguel de Cervantes has repeatedly been voted the best book of all time (see  this article from The Guardian ). Thanks to the mastery of the Spanish language, you will be able to discover a multitude of authors, such as the Chilean poet Nobel Prize winner in Literature Pablo Neruda, Gabriel García Márquez, Mario Vargas Llosa, Jorge Luis Borges and many others.

Regarding the  7th Art , you will inevitably find your happiness in Spanish-speaking films. Whether with the works of the great Pedro Almodóvar, Alfonso Cuarón and Guilermo Del Toro. You will also find exceptional documentaries rarely translated into French.

5. An essential language in the United States

Americans from the various Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America and Spain represent approximately 17% of the total population of the United States and almost 26% of births. They are today the first ethnic minority ahead of African-Americans. There is a huge demand for Spanish speakers in all sectors of the American economy, and multinationals are investing more than ever in Latin America, especially in Mexico.

A friend of mine went to live in Miami for 3 months and he was struck by the number of people speaking Spanish on the streets. He realized the enormous influence that this language has on Florida but also on the entire South of the United States. Moreover, the invention of the term  Spanglish ,  which designates an unofficial language resulting from a combination of English and Spanish, is proof of the influence of Spanish on English.
